Best Photos of 2021

A bit late for a "best of the year" post, but I still wanted to share what I considered to be my best photos in 2021. It was the first year that I began my journey as a wildlife photographer, and I find it important to remind myself just how far I have come since then. Back then I was just worried about getting a photo in focus, so things like composition, style and presentation really didn't mean much to me.
It was also my first trip to Africa, and I really pushed my little APSC A6400 to its limits with a 70-350mm lens. I learned a lot just by making mistakes on that trip, but still came away with some images that I am quite proud of.
All in all 2021 was a big year for me, and helped lay the foundation for where I am now as a photographer. Today I look back at some of these photos and cringe because I realize how much better I could have taken them with what I know now. But in a sense there are are still so many amazing emotions behind them that it doesn't even matter. I hope you enjoy my top images and look forward to more in the future!
